Weak current College】 【SAN special terminology details (2)】.
COS (service levels)
CRC (cyclic redundancy code validation): test method for encoding, used to transmit data for error detection and correction.
Credit (credit): indicates that F/FL_Port port to N/NL_Port port provided maximum buffer number value to prevent N/NL_Port port to send too much data frame, so that the receiving buffer overflow.
Cut-through (Royal Exchange): a switch technology, allows the frame's destination address to make routing decisions immediately after.
Datagram (datagram): a Class3 fibre channel service, allowing to quickly send data to the schema attached to multiple devices, you do not need to receive confirmation.
Dedicatedsimplex (dedicated simplex): allows a port in maintaining a N_Port Class1 connections at the same time, as the initiator of the initialization and another dialogue between N_Port port.
Disparity (dedicated simplex): allows a port in maintaining a N_Port Class1 connections at the same time, as the initiator of the initialization and another dialogue between N_Port port.
DLS (dynamic load balancing): allows the Fx or E_Port port changes to recalculate the routing.
DomainID (domain identifier): SilkWorm2000 series switches assigned a 1-239 a unique number between, used in the schema indicates that the switch.
DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing): see wave division multiplexing, allows different wavelength of the wave with fibre.
E_D_TOV (fault detection timeout value): an operation allows data back and forth maximum time exceeds this time, there is still no response to an error.
EE_Credit (end-to-end credit value): is not acknowledged by the maximum number of frames, used to manage the two communication device between Exchange.
EIA (electronic industries Association)
8b/10bencoding (8b/10b coding) an encoding scheme, will be an 8 bit byte encoded as two 10-bit characters, are used to balance high speed bit stream 1 and 0.
ELP (extended link process)
Emulex a host bus adapter brand
EOF (frame terminator): a set of fixed bit sequence, marking the end of the frame.
E_Port (expansion ports): used to connect two switches.
Exchange (swap): senior fibre channel mechanism for two N_Port port between the one-way or two-way communication.
Fabric (Exchange): senior fibre channel mechanism for two N_Port port between the one-way or two-way communication.
FAN (schema address notification): in the loop when reinitialization, save arbitrated loop physical address and schema addresses (required switches support).
F_BSY (schema port busy frame): framework for sending this frame as the schema or purpose N_Port port busy to send data.
